[Chapter 33] 1 And from thence – I went to the ends of the earth and saw there great beasts, – and each differed from the other; and (I saw) birds also differing in appearance and beauty and voice, the one differing from the other. And to the east of those beasts I saw the ends of the earth whereon the heaven 2 rests, and the portals of the heaven open. And I saw how the stars of heaven come forth, and 3 I counted the portals out of which they proceed, and wrote down all their outlets, of each individual star by itself, according to their number and their names, their courses and their positions, and their 4 times and their months, as Uriel the holy angel who was with me showed me. He showed all things to me and wrote them down for me: also their names he wrote for me, and their laws and their companies. – Book of Enoch
12 A third part of thee – shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword – round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. 16 When I shall send upon them – the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread: 17 So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee: and pestilence – and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the Lord have spoken it. –5 Ezekiel
7 In the first year of Be'lsh'azzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and -visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum- of the matters. 2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision – by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, – diverse one from another. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. 5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. 6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. – Daniel
